The first time I posted on Substack was exactly one year ago, on April 19, 2023.
To be honest, I never expected that this publication, which started as a mere idea, would last for a year. Not only that, but I never expected that so many people would be interested in my posts and subscribe to them. My activities here have now become the greatest pleasure for me.
I am very grateful to everyone who views “JAPAN ORDINARY photos” every day. And thank you to Substack for creating such an interesting place.
I have enough photo resources to update daily for the next 3 years. And by the time 3 years have passed from now, I'll probably have enough photos to update for several more years. But I started to feel anxious. Will Substack still exist in 3 years?
Over the past 30 years of my life with the internet, I've experienced the closure of my favorite web services many times. No matter how many people love a service, if it is not profitable, it will be forced to close. What can I do to keep my favorite playground alive?
As a content creator, I thought the best thing I could do was add a paid plan to my publication. But don't worry. I have no intention of putting up a paywall on my publications. You will continue to enjoy all articles for free.
If you pay money, part of that money goes to Substack and the rest goes to me, minus the settlement fee. And I plan to use it for transportation expenses for the photo shoots.
Congratulations, Akira-san!
happy anniversary! cheers for much more to come 🥂🍾🎂
