In Japan, there are many warning signs that say, "Watch out for feces as there is a swallow's nest overhead." Swallows are more welcome than pigeons. Because we can enjoy watching swallows raise their chicks in their nests.
I don't want to be hit by either poop, but if I had to choose between them, I'd choose the swallow. As for why I make that choice... Actually, I don't know why, but I think many Japanese people would make the same choice as me.
