In Iwamura (appeared in 074 and 075), “Iwamura Castle” was built in the 12th century. Unfortunately, the Iwamura Castle building was demolished in the 19th century, but the old stone walls still remain on the slopes of the mountain.
Japanese castles have different characteristics depending on the era and location in which they were built. It is sometimes built as a symbol of the power of the ruler of the area, but castles on top of mountains are often built with actual battles in mind. And this Iwamura Castle is the latter.
