“Centrair” is an airport in Aichi prefecture that opened in 2005 (Aichi Prefecture is located almost in the center of Japan). This airport is a marine airport built by reclaiming the sea off the Chita Peninsula. The official name of this airport is “Chubu Centrair International Airport”, but it is known by the nickname “Centrair”. By the way, Centrair is a coined word combining “Central” and “Airport”.
