(Early 2010s) Graffiti #1
マダラ (MADARA)
I found graffiti saying “マダラ!! (madara!!)” all over town. There is a Japanese called “斑” that pronounces “madara”, but “マダラ” is not an ideogram, but a phonogram, so it is not possible to determine what the word means. Is it like a collective or individual call sign?
By the way, the character “斑” has the following meanings.
Different colors are mixed in places, or there are shades of color.
The appearance or absence of a certain phenomenon. Some parts are clear and some are not.

It appears there is a manga or character by that name. Could that be what it is referring to? https://www.pinterest.jp/pin/853924779316428290/
