“Maedori” is when a couple about to get married take photos in their best attire before their wedding. Cherry blossoms in full bloom are the perfect setting for Maedori.

When we were in Moscow in the late 1990s we enjoyed watching Russian couples take similar wedding pictures at historic points and lookouts with a view of the city. The range of fashion reflected in the wedding dresses was fascinating, and the Best Man’s primary job appeared to be keeping everyone drinking.
