You've found an interesting point interesting. Japan has a long history of heraldry, and each family has their own heraldry that has been passed down from generation to generation. By the way, the Shimizu family crest is a bellflower in a circle.

If my ancestors were samurai, I would have been able to trace history back using the family tree, but since I think they were probably commoners, unfortunately I can only trace back about 100 years. Also, before the Edo period (1603-1868), only samurai and some influential people were allowed to have family crests, so my family's crest was probably established after the Meiji period (1868-1912), and I'm not sure how the crest was decided.

What a great series. And they feel really different than your usual—a bit more artistic.

I love the plain straightforward approach of most of your photos… but nice to see your different view of the world

Thank you. To be honest, I don't really think about a particular style or artistry in my photography, so it's very interesting for me to hear how people analyze my photos.
