A Sense of Fascination with Imperfections
These days Japanese young people often use the word “emoy”. Emoy is slang derived from the word “emotional”, but often refers to “unexplainable attraction”.
Also, some young people find film photography “emo” with too low contrast, color imbalance, and what many consider a failure. I see their aesthetic as a positive one.
