Love this kind of self portraits!

check out Josef Koudelka's Warsaw Pact troops invasion photograph where he unintentionally documented the start of the 2nd World War.

Aside from that, I looked at the photos you recommended. They were taken in 1968, so it wasn't World War II, but if I had been there, I think I would have reflexively picked up my camera.

Oh I see, I thought they were taken against a mirror. And you're right, that was a late 60s shot in the old Czechoslovakia. My bad on both!

My brain is playing tricks on me today.
