This somehow reminded me of the poem by Seamus Heaney in which at his mother’s funeral he remembers peeling potatoes with her as a child.

I never thought about putting down newspaper when I fry food. I am going to try that.

My cooking, in my opinion, doesn't taste like my mom's, but others, including my mother liked it.
