Mirai-chan

The moment I saw photographer KAWASHIMA Kotori's photo book “Mirai-chan”, I fell in love with this girl. The photo book was published in April 2011, the month after the Great East Japan Earthquake, when Japan was in great turmoil. I felt the nostalgia and toughness of a Shōwa-era child in the girl. Interestingly, the girl's name “Mirai” means “Future”.
