It is true that even in Japan, radio-controlled airplanes were extremely expensive compared to plastic models, and were out of reach for children. But now we can buy a drone for about $20 at a toy store.

I love your idea of “interesting normal”. The photos are wonderful. The remote control gliders remind me of my dad and brothers building and flying them when we were young. When our parents died and we were cleaning out their house, we found the old green remote control in the attic. Your photos reminded me of some of the best times we had as kids with our dad. 💖🥰
