The town looks quite brown. It reminds me a bit of Detroit here in the U.S. I really appreciate these snapshots of the non glamorous areas of the Japan.

Wow. I can just imagine what it was like, say, 30 years ago? During the bubble, this must have been a bustling area, and all these pubs had a thriving business when workers stopped in for a drink before going home.

What a change. 😢

I don't know when this shopping district handed over its role to a new shopping district that opened nearby, but I think it was probably at its most vibrant during the period of rapid economic growth in the 1960s.

I create these maps in Adobe Illustrator and I wish there was an easier way to do it.
