(Mid. 2010s) Old shopping street in Gifu city
Sad to look :( I hope the shotengai reopens!
Sadly, but in an ageing community, this may be an inevitable change. (>_<)
I know that revitalization and revival is inevitable. One day soon, Japan will enter into a new and most glorious age!
It's sad when businesses close. An all too common sight, nowadays.
Unfortunately, as store owners get older, they are forced to close unless their children or grandchildren take over the business.
A common problem for small family businesses who cannot find a buyer when retirement beckons. In addition to that, rising costs are currently driving businesses to close in many countries.
The town where I was born and raised is no exception; the appearance of the streets has changed considerably, with many vacant lots and houses now.
Looks like great movie set. Love it.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.
