As you say, things like music and fashion are cyclical. Interestingly, music from the 90's feels the oldest, and music from the mid-70's to early 80's feels most mature. This era coincided with the time when analog recording technology reached its peak.

The nice thing about YouTube and music streaming services is that we can come across unknown music through recommendations. I also got to know quite a few songs and musicians.

I used to listen to Smap, Kome Kome Club, Blue and Mr Children occasionally

Nice memories of long gone days—I arrived in Japan in 1982. The Tatsuro Yamashita sound will forever remind me of summer. Yamashita's music and Yuming's reigned the radio in those days.

It's great that their music is connected to your memories. I think the first half of the 1980s was the time when Tatsuro and Yuming were at their brightest.
