The sheer variety of Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, is what impresses me.
That's a good way to see it in perspective. As an American living in Belgium, it is a really small country that could fit inside many US states. But I kind of like that everything is relatively close. There is a beach and ocean, mountains, forests, and some nice cities too.
