This festival is a reenactment of battles that took place during the Sengoku period (late 15th century to late 16th century) and is divided into two main elements: matchlock gun shooting (Of course, these are blank shots.) and Bō-no-Te (dueling).
Matchlock Gun Shooting
Bō-no-Te

As the troops march through the town of Nagakute, they fire their matchlock guns at frequent intervals, and when they arrive at the shrine, they put on a show of bō-no-te techniques within the grounds.
